The NM23 Polyclonal Antibody (AB30012) offered by Assay Genie is a valuable tool for researchers studying NM23, a protein with various roles in cell proliferation, differentiation, and metastasis. This antibody, generated in rabbits, is highly specific for human NM23 and has been validated for use in Western blot applications. By binding to NM23, this antibody enables the detection and analysis of NM23 protein levels in different cell types, making it ideal for studies in cancer research and cell biology.NM23, also known as nucleoside diphosphate kinase (NDPK), is a multifunctional protein involved in DNA replication, signal transduction, and development.
Its dysregulation has been implicated in various cancers, making it an attractive target for studies aiming to understand tumor progression and potential therapeutic interventions. By utilizing the NM23 Polyclonal Antibody, researchers can investigate the role of NM23 in cancer development and metastasis, furthering our understanding of its potential as a biomarker or therapeutic target.

This gene (NME1) was identified because of its reduced mRNA transcript levels in highly metastatic cells. Nucleoside diphosphate kinase (NDK) exists as a hexamer composed of 'A' (encoded by this gene) and 'B' (encoded by NME2) isoforms. Mutations in this gene have been identified in aggressive neuroblastomas. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. Co-transcription of this gene and the neighboring downstream gene (NME2) generates naturally-occurring transcripts (NME1-NME2), which encodes a fusion protein comprised of sequence sharing identity with each individual gene product.Nucleoside diphosphate kinase (NDK) exists as a hexamer composed of 'A' (encoded by NME1) and 'B' (encoded by this gene) isoforms. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. Read-through transcription from the neighboring upstream gene (NME1) generates naturally-occurring transcripts (NME1-NME2) that encode a fusion protein comprised of sequence sharing identity with each individual gene product.
