CD37 belongs to the transmembrane 4 superfamily, otherwise known as the tetraspanin family. Most of its members are cell-surface proteins which are distinguished by the presence of 4 hydrophobic domains. These proteins mediate signal transduction events which have a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. CD37 protein is a cell surface glycoprotein which is known to form complexes with integrins and other transmembrane 4 superfamily proteins. CD37 may also havea role in T-cell-B-cell interactions.
CD37 Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 154 amino acids (112-241 a.a) and having a molecular mass of 17.4kDa.CD37 is fused to a 24 amino acid His-tag at N-terminus & purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
| UniProt Protein Function: | CD37: is a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. Most of these members are cell-surface proteins that are characterized by the presence of four hydrophobic domains. The proteins mediate signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. This encoded protein is a cell surface glycoprotein that is known to complex with integrins and other transmembrane 4 superfamily proteins. It may play a role in T-cell-B-cell interactions. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] |
