Background: | Adrenomedullin is a potent vasodilator peptide that exerts major effects on cardiovascular function. This gene encodes a seven-transmembrane protein that belongs to the family 1 of G-protein coupled receptors. Studies of the rat counterpart suggest that the encoded protein may function as a receptor for adrenomedullin. |
Synonyms: | G protein-coupled receptor 182 |
UniProt Protein Function: | GPR182: Orphan receptor. Belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. |
UniProt Protein Details: | Protein type:Membrane protein, multi-pass; GPCR, family 1; Membrane protein, integral; Receptor, GPCR Chromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 12q13.3 Cellular Component: integral to membrane; plasma membrane Molecular Function:G-protein coupled receptor activity; transmembrane receptor activity Biological Process: G-protein coupled receptor protein signaling pathway; cell surface receptor linked signal transduction |
